I know what you’re thinking, “pineapple in water? uuuhhhh, no thanks!” I thought the same thing too before trying it. Trust me, this one’s delicious! We bought a topless pineapple (that’s fun to say!) and some fresh mint leaves and enjoyed this water all day.
This combo is extra delicious. I would’ve never thought to try it, but I’m so glad I did! The refreshing mint with the fun, summery taste of pineapple is a perfect treat.
Some added bonuses:
- Pineapple and its natural sugars can reduce intestinal inflammation and break down waste in the small intestine
- Mint can aid in digestion and help with stomach cramps
Getting started:
Rinse off your mint leaves and chop up your pineapple. I like to have bigger fruit chunks (personal preference). Have your water carafe handy. Remember to find one that has a big opening, or you’ll never get the fruit out when you’re cleaning it! Drop your fruit and mint into the carafe. Fill with water and leave in the fridge for a few hours. Voila, your water’s ready!
Heads up: this water is delicious and ready to drink after about an hour. It stays fresh and flavorful for about a day, not much longer.
Have you ever tried pineapple mint water? Did you love it? What’s your favorite way to eat pineapple? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
Yum! I love flavoring my water with whatever fruits are available in my pantry. Pineapple and mint is a great combo.
That’s awesome!
I’m not sure if I can still find pineapple at the grocery store? But this summer I did a lot of flavored water but never tried this combination, will give it a try!
Anna I think I bought one of the last ones here. I hope you find one! If not, think about it for next summer.
I love flavored water. I usually do strawberry or lemon but this is an interesting and sounds like delicious combo.
Oh gosh this sounds amazing!! I totally will have to do this for the weekend!!
I hope you like it Angela!
I’ve never tried that but I love adding stuff to my water. I once drank lemon and cayenne pepper! That was not good!
Oh wow Amanda! That sounds like it tasted… interesting…! Yuck!
Sounds so delish! Can’t wait to try it!
I love flavored water, I would have never thought to put pineapple and mint together though!
I love natural flavored water! This is a combo I’d love to try!
This is a good idea! I love mint drinks but I’ve never tried this one. I’ll give it a try.
This is such a neat way to remind yourself to stay hydrated! I have to admit, I never add things to my water, but I think it’s gorgeous when people have this type of water.
I heard that pineapple helps you go into labor and thins your cervix. I need to make a huge batch of this and maybe it will help me go into the labor. The mint looks like a great partner to the citrus.
Wow I hadn’t heard that before! Good luck Kim!!
I’ve never made flavored water before that wasn’t bought from a store. Looks and sounds delicious!
This sounds so refreshing! I can’t wait to make this after I pick up some mint and pineapple from the store tomorrow!
I generally experience both of these symptoms, so this is a super helpful post. I am going to the grocery store tomorrow and will add pineapple and mint to the list so I can test this out! Fingers crossed!
Karen I hope this helps a little!
I love trying new ways to flavor water. This looks yum!
Flavored water is one of my favorite drinks ever. You get to quench your thirst and receive nutrients through fruits simultaneously. Have you ever tried raspberry + blueberry flavored water? DELISH!
Debbie-Jean I love blueberry water, never tried raspberry though. That’ll be next on my list!
This drink sounds so refreshing. I love flavored water. I typically use cucumber and strawberry but I like mint too. Will have to try this recipe because it sounds really good.
Flavored water is the only way I drink it! (What a brat right) but once you try it you’re hooked! I’ll be trying this next!
Totally agree Jessi! Once you try it you’re hooked!
Yum, I would love to try this. I try to drink a ton of water and this would make it a lot easier.
That actually sounds amazing to me! And so refreshing! I do this a lot in the spring/summer, but I have never tried it with pineapple – yum!
I’ve tried infusing fruits with my water but I never thought about combining pineapple and mint! That sounds refreshing and it will definitely remind you of the summer! Love this idea!
This sounds great except for the fact that I am deathly allergic to pineapples. I do think it is important to drink lots of water though!!!! I love using strawberries in my water.
Oh no Taylor! Definitely don’t try it then! I need to try a strawberry water next time.
