Flavored Water: Melon + Mint

One of my favorite things to do is to make fun water flavors. We rarely have soda or juice at home, and this is a really nice alternative to “plain and boring” water.

There are lots of reasons as to why fruit and herb infused water is so good for you: detox your body of toxins, solve specific symptoms, etc. And yes that’s definitely an added bonus and motivation to do this, but it’s also just really fun to drink water with fruit floating in it! So classy!

For this one I went for a mint (aids in digestion) and melon (fun, fruity, refreshing flavor) combo. I put in about half of a small melon, but you can use however much you like. You need a water pitcher with a wide mouth so you can easily put the fruit in and take it out once you’re done. Flashback to the first time I tried this and stubbornly shoved some fruit into a tiny but adorable water pitcher. It was impossible to get the fruit out after!

Combine the fruit and herbs in the pitcher, and pour in your water! I like to put in the mint whole and the fruit in big slices if possible. Make sure to rinse the herbs and any fruit rinds before. Leave your beautiful beverage to sit for a little while, overnight or at least a few hours, so the flavors can seep in. ENJOY!

If you want to keep enjoying your flavored drink all day, after you pour your first glass, fill the pitcher back up with water. The new and “old” water will mix together, diluting the flavors slightly. Still delicious!

Did you try the recipe? Do you have other fruit water combos you love? I’d love to hear about it! Let me know in the comments!

This looks delicious! I started drinking infused water this summer. I played with lots of combinations and my favorite was cucumber mint. I didn’t think to try melon. Definitely on my “to do” list!

This looks so yummy! I do the same but I add just lemon or cucumber. Have never tried it your way… Thank you for sharing. Great idea!

Ninz, lemon or cucumber is great too! After a while it can get a little boring too, which is why we started trying some different combos. Hope you like it!

I’ve had water flavored with fruits, vegetables, and/or herbs before, but I haven’t made it myself. I have a garden each year and grow herbs like spearmint, peppermint, and basil. I think I’d like to try making this flavored water with herbs and vegetables from my garden and maybe some fruits too (I have blueberries, raspberries, grapes, apples, and more). Do you prefer spearmint or peppermint? I wonder if one tastes better than the other when combined with certain fruits or vegetables.

I’ve never tried fresh spearmint before, but I imagine that it’d be really refreshing! It could be nice to try it on its own for the first time or with lemon so you can really taste it.
