2017 Resolutions

Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for reading along with me these past few months! It’s been a lot of work and a whole lot of fun, and I’m so excited for what’s in store for next year!

2017 Resolutions, champagne in the New Year

2016 RECAP

What a year! There was some bad and some sad, but there were also some big glittery moments. First of all, I started this blog! I finally went for it and jumped in!

I went back to work in the spring after my maternity leave, and this summer we celebrated baby Andrew turning 1! (How did that already happen?!?!)

We went on some awesome trips (Texas, Paris, the UK, Austria), ate some delicious food, and spent time with amazing people that we’re lucky to have in our lives. Feeling ultra #blessed over here.

2017 RESOLUTIONS

Work on my wellness and make sure I get enough sleep. I’m really good at being a high-functioning tired person (when else can you get things done when you have a baby?!), but I know I’m more productive and healthier when I go to bed at a “normal” time.

Focus on my fitness. I have a few specific fitness goals for the next 2 years, and I want to build up my base level this year.

Save more. We worked really hard last year on sticking to budgets, and this year will be even more of the same and better.

Travel. Martin and I made a deal to visit at least 1 new place each year. But who says that has to be a limit!

Be a good person. It’s more important now than ever to set a good example for my son. Paying it forward never goes out of style.

Keep growing the blog! I’m constantly learning, and this year I want to spend more time on my Pinterest and Instagram pages.

MY 2017 WORD OF THE YEAR: FOCUS.

Recently I had a lot of projects running through my head. I tried to juggle more than I could handle, kept adding to my to do list but didn’t actually check off many things, then felt extremely chaotic and stressed and actually got sick.

This year I’m going to focus on my goals, focus on accomplishing what I set out to do, focus on my son, focus on myself…

Cheers to a wonderful year ahead!

I think my word of the year has to be focus too. It keeps randomly popping into my head. It’s hard to keep focus though and do all that we want to do without stretching ourselves too thin.

Love your word of FOCUS for the year. I’m thinking of mine being “LIMITATIONS” and how I need to manage my own stuff only…not take on others work. Know what I mean? I cant do it all, right? Cheers to 2017 girl!

I love focus as a word! Mine is actually margin this year – last year was action, and I took tremendous steps of action in so many aspects of my life that I burned myself out. Good luck in 2017!

OH focus is such a great word! I feel like in my adulthood, my head has become so cluttered it is hard for me to FOCUS on anything!

If you have a baby, getting enough sleep should be your big resolution and maybe your only one. That is SO huge. I didn’t get enough sleep the first year of my son’s life. Congrats on starting your blog last year, and I wish you the best of luck this year!

I think it’s a lovely choice for the word of the year since you’re going to be focusing on a lot of improvements for the year ahead. It’s really nice to be able to inspire yourself to improve your way of living.

That’s a great word of the year! I think mine this year is going to be ambition. But focus is so important too! My husband and I are in the process of creating an in-home office that will hopefully help with both of those!

Focus is a great word of the year! I also agree with visiting one new place every year! My husband and I started that a few years ago and so far have stuck with it. Even if it is a city close to somewhere we have been. This year on my must-see list is Sedona, Arizona!

Oh focus is a great word! I had that as my first word in 2007 (yes I’ve been doing the yearly words that long). It was a great year and exactly what I needed. My word for 2017 is “do”.

I love your word of the year! I’m still trying to find mine! I love focus and I definitely need more of that. One of the things I really need to focus on is organization!

Well summed up “goodbye” to the year that went by, preserving the memories! And love that you’ve covered all areas of your life with your 2017 goals. I’m into health & fitness too, besides the blogging goals 🙂

Wonderful resolutions and love your word of the year!! I’m definitely the type of person who tries to juggle WAY too many things at one time and could probably use a little more focus in my own life too.
