I love this blog because I can share activities, recipes, and travel ideas. But I love it even more because I can share our fun family memories too. I’m starting off this weekend by recapping Andrew’s first birthday party from this summer.
Since Andrew probably wouldn’t remember anything. we decided to have a party where the adults could also have fun, So we decided to take advantage of the summer weather and have a low key pool party. The pool was fun for everyone, kids and parents!
We had some appetizers, a big pitcher of Sangria, another big pitcher of kid-friendly lemonade, and desserts galore! I made my favorite carrot zucchini bread and a chocolate cake, and I made a smaller version of the carrot bread for him to do a cake smash. It was so funny watching him with his cake. He wasn’t sure about it at first, but after the first bite he was really into it. He was definitely playing up to the audience! I think we have a future performer on our hands!
Our little water baby played in the pool almost the whole day! He wore himself out so much that he actually fell asleep in his high chair during dinner. I never thought that would happen! Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and showed Andrew so much love. We all had a great time!
Thank you Katie and Kevin Noone for the great pictures!
What are your favorite birthday party activities or themes? What’s the youngest birthday that you remember? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
